Pietrelicina

The Capuchin monk Saint Pio from Pietrelcina, became priest in the Benevento’s Cathedral in 1910 than, on 7 September of the same year near the elm in Piana Romana (Pietrelcina), received the “invisible” stigmas. On 16 of June in 2002 Pope John Paul II proclaim him saint. We visit: the Capuchin monks’ church, the churches of S.Mary of angels and S.Anna, the castle, the birth house of San Pio and the farm Forgione in Piana Romana road and the elm where the saint received the “invisible” stigmas.
