The city of Benevento, situated in the Campania’s Region hinterland, well-know also as city of “witches”, has a past rich of history that makes it a very “museum in the open air”. We suggest various itineraries: Roman, Longobard, Papal with visit at historical-artistic testimonies of many periods. The arch of Traiano, built between the 114 and the 117 a.C. in honour of the Emperor Traiano, the Roman Theatre, wanted by Caracalla, famous for its excellent acoustics; the arch of Sacrament, the church of S.Sofia, with its beautiful cloister, the “Civitas Nova” with its perimetrical walls, the majestic fortress of Rettori, the Cathedral, Palace Paul V, the Our Lady of graces’ Basilica. But also attention at modern with the “Hortus Conclusus”, in the garden of the late convent S. Domenico, where a group of meanings sculpturesque elements of the artist Domenico Paladino, form a unique completed work.
