WINE EVENTS 

Cantine Aperte (Opened cellars) takes place every year in the last Sunday of May in the associated cellars of the “Movimento Turismo del Vino” and it’s the most important event in Italy with wine as protagonist. Since 1993, the initiative has been having a constant success thanks to the gradual work of the whole national land till get to more than eight hundred cellars opened for a million of visitors.

Cantine al Borgo (Cellars at village) (it takes place in the village of Castelvenere, the last weekend of every month) event dedicated to the wine and organized in the historical centre of the village by the wine producers of Castelvenere, with the collaboration of the municipality and Pro-loco. In this way, tourists can admire the old deposits of wine excavated in tuff caves that create a suggestive and agrestic atmosphere. It’s also possible to taste free the famous wines that are jealously preserved by the producers, to observe the local craftsmanship products and taste the traditional dishes of local cuisine.

Calici di stelle (Goblets of stars) (10 august in diferent village) the traditional summer meeting created by the “Movimento Turismo del Vino” that, in one of the most suggestive night of the year, give tourists the possibility of enjoy “the rain of Saint Laurence’s tears” together with a quality wine. The wine tourists could taste the best wine of the associated cellars combined with the typical quality products; some winegrowers will open their cellars in honour of this initiative of midsummer. The initiative takes advantage of the National Association City of Wine’s cooperation. 

Vinalia (in the village of Guardia Sanframondi in the first decade of August) food and wine festival organised by the Wine Club in order to promote the typical quality products and to enhance the land. It takes place in the characteristic area of the Guardia’s old “hearth”, where, more than thirty entreprises have created the Taste Way (with the support and cooperation of Slow Food Campania ) with tastings of wines, but also of oils, cheeses, jams, salt meats, cider, honey, biscuits and mushrooms. Taste laboratories, meetings, musical performances, projections, street artists, etc.

Festa del Vino (Wine party) (in the village of Castelvenere during the last weekend of August) takes place in one or more Campania’s municipalities, which have more hectares of land vineyards planted. The party is a sequence of tastings (Piedirosso, Coda di volpe, Barbera), round tables, cultural events and performances, meeting about agriculture or ambient, comparisons between journalists, producers and managers, among street food, toasts and theatrical animation.

Vinestate (in the village of Torrecuso first weekend of September) the party, dedicated to the Aglianico of Taburno, wants to give visibility to the whole wine production of the area. During the event, apart of wine tastings in the historical centre, are in program meetings, exhibitions of local typical products and of traditional handicraft, musical and animation performances.

Festa dell’Uva (Grape party) (in the village of Solopaca second weekend of September). The village, immersed in the Telese’s valley, celebrates its grapes that allowing the Solopaca wine to obtain the D.O.C. denomination. During the whole week, music, culture and gastronomy kept busy the typical Solopaca’s days. On Sunday, the carts, built by the cart Masters and completely covered of grapes glued on by one, march for the village’s streets to been admired and voted. All around is an exultation of party and tastes, with wine tastings, gastronomic stands and exhibitions of local typical and craft products.

Falanghina Felix (in the village of Sant’Agata de’ Goti in November) Regional festival of Falanghina grape wines than takes place in the old charming Campania’s little town. Exhibitions and tastings of the best productions together with musical and cultural events, apart from moments dedicated to the operators.
